Welcome to Encino

Hidden gem community whose verdant streets, quiet vibes, and gorgeous architecture has drawn in celebrities for decades
Northwest of Downtown Los Angeles and flanked on two sides by massive parks, the affluent neighborhood of Encino provides a suburban retreat for families while maintaining an urban appeal. Together, the community parks, tree-lined streets combined with the proximity of LA, and local charming commercial offerings create a unique atmosphere that’s hard to find elsewhere in LA.
Having housed big celebrity names like Johnny Carson and Tom Petty, Ice Cube, and John Travolta, it’s no surprise that Encino’s residential options can be truly staggering. The varied and remarkable architectural styles range from palatial Tuscan villas and Mediterranean mansions to contemporary marvels and innovative mid-century modern homes. While it’s not uncommon to find multimillion-dollar properties ensconced in the hillside, there’s also a decent amount of luxe single-family residences nestled closer to the center of the neighborhood.

What to Love

  • Ample green space and area for recreational activity
  • Living shoulder-to-shoulder with celebrities and influential names
  • Just 30 minutes to Downtown LA and LAX

People & Lifestyle

Private and close-knit, Encino is family-oriented and ideal for creating a peaceful life. Convenient access to major arteries, including the 101 and the 405, makes commuting a breeze for professionals hoping to live outside of the city, which is close enough to be enjoyed for its dynamic energy. Those who prefer to stay close to home have a host of local eateries and shops to choose from, making it a great place to establish staple favorites.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Often referred to as San Fernando Valley’s “Miracle Mile,” Encino Commons is a remarkable stretch of diverse restaurants, shops, and entertainment facilities that rests in the heart of the neighborhood. Along Ventura Boulevard, Encino Marketplace is a popular stop for groceries, fresh coffee, and baked goods. For some of the freshest in local produce in LA, residents make the short drive over to the Encino Farmers Market tucked inside the lush greenery of the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area.
Encino proves that you don’t have to be at the center of LA to enjoy some of the area’s best culinary experiences. Encino’s bevy of restaurants run the gamut from scenic brasseries to chic Thai food establishments and everything in between. Here, you’ll find eateries like Okumura, whose always-fresh and aesthetically pleasing sushi embodies the excellent craft and passion of the restaurants’ chefs.
Boasting a colorful history and stunning lakeside views, The Oaks at Lakeside serves up a heavenly weekend brunch, in addition to week-long lunch and dinner options that you can enjoy dining under the shade of ancient oak trees. Blending French cooking techniques with traditional Japanese ramen-making craft, Oh Man Ramen makes a light and unique ramen bursting with just as much flavor as the traditional.

Things to Do

One of Encino’s most inviting facets is its surplus of park spaces and historic scenery, including the much-loved Los Encinos State Historic Park. With its settlement dating back to the ancient Tongva tribe, the modern-day rancho is home to exhibits detailing settlers’ agricultural exploits throughout the centuries. It includes several historic buildings and a museum and picnic grounds.
Lake Balboa and Anthony C. Beilenson Park is an idyllic place to relax and step away from the bustle of life. More than just its playgrounds, walking areas, picnic locations, lake views, bike paths, and fishing opportunities, this park is also home to The Japanese Garden. Sprawling over six acres, this lush garden setting has breathtaking water features, meditation areas, authentic Japanese art, and a teahouse.
